Medi-Prompt   Simply the best application for managing your medication schedules.

GETTING STARTED:

When you first start using Medi-Prompt you will be presented with the Medication view.  It is here that you tell Medi-Prompt all about your medication.  Tap the  +  button to add a new medication and then enter its name.  It is best to use the proper name here, unless it is very long, to avoid any confusion.  Tap  Done  and the entry for that medication is created and you will be taken back to the Medication view. Tap that new medication to go to the view where can edit/enter the required details.

FOUR VIEWS:

At the bottom of the screen you see four tabs: Medication, Due list, Log & Tools

Medication:

This shows a list of all your medications sorted by Name with Patient name.  Tap any of these to edit the details for that medication.

Medication details:

The entries are split into functional groups and each entry has its own help notes so I will not duplicate those here.

Items with a red background are the minimum required to make it work, but you will get more benefit from completing them all.

There are also action buttons on this view, identified by the different background and the action displayed in upper case.  For example  VIEW STATS  will take you to a view where you can see a summary of your usage of that medication.

Due list:

This shows a list of all your medication showing when each is next due.  The most imminent is at the top of the list. The list grouped under 6 headings

Due or overdue:

This shows those scheduled medications that are due within the next 10 minutes or overdue. The due time is shown (coloured red if overdue).

Not due yet

This shows the schedule medications that will be due in at least 10 minutes time. The due time is shown.

Ad hoc

This lists the medications which are not scheduled but taken as required.

Course completed

This shows medications that were set for a prescribed course and that course is now complete.

Suspended

This show medications that you have marked as suspended.

Medication record incomplete

This shows medications for which you have not completed sufficient details.  Please tap the medication and enter data for at least those items highlighted with a red background.

Whenever you open Medi-Prompt, if there are any medications in the Due or Overdue section, this view will be the first displayed.

When you are about to take a medication, tap the medication on the Due list for a summary display and action buttons as described below.

Due list details:

This view shows you the relevant details of the selected medication and the recent history of when it was taken.  It then prompts you, via two buttons, to say whether you want to  Take it...  or  Skip it .

Log:

This gives a record of medication taken or skipped.  If you are using Stock Control, it also records orders placed and stock replenished.

Tools:

Shows various actions and settings that control the way Medi-Prompt works.

TAKING MEDICATION:

To allow Medi-Prompt to do its job of warning you about breaching the safety guidelines for your medication, it is important to remember to use Medi-Prompt before you take your medication, not afterwards.

When you are about to take your medication, open up Medi-Prompt and, if not already displayed, go to the Due list view.  Tap the required medication.  You will see the details of that medication (strength, dose, etc), together with any notes you entered about that medication, and a summary of recent activity.  Having checked that you are on the right medication, tap the  Take it...  button.   If taking a dose at this time breaches the safety guidelines (too many in a day or too close to the previous dose) you will be warned asked to confirm that wish to carry on.  Otherwise you will simply be asked to confirm the time that the medication is taken and tap  Done .  The time that you took the medication will be logged and the time of the next dose will then be calculated.

SKIPPING MEDICATION:

When you are want tell Medi-Prompt of a skipped dose, open up Medi-Prompt and, if not already displayed, go to the Due list view.  Tap the required medication.  You will see the details of that medication (strength, dose, etc), together with any notes you entered about that medication, and a summary of recent activity.  Having checked that you are on the right medication, tap the  Skip it  button.  The time that you skipped the medication will be logged and the time of the next dose will then be calculated.

CLEARING THE LOG:

The log keep a record of  all your activity and can therefore get quite large over a period of time.  To purge the log, display the Tools view and tap on purge log in the Actions section.  You will then be asked to select a date before which all log entries will be removed.  Medi-Prompt will default this date to one year ago.  NB You cannot remove the log entries made in the last month.  Tap the dustbin button to start the purge.

STOCK CONTROL:

When first installed, Stock control is disabled for the whole system.  To enable Stock control, go to Tools / Settings and tap stock control. Here you can turn Stock control on or off for the whole system.  You must then tell Medi-Prompt the stock control parameters for each medication as follows:-

Go to the Medication view and tap the required medication. Scroll down until you come to the Stock control section. If you have not turned on Stock control for this medication you must do this first.  Then supply the data for the next 4 entries.  From now on, Medi-Prompt will monitor your stock level and prompt you to re-order at the appropriate time.  You will also see 2 brown buttons.  Use  PLACE ORDER  when you order a new supply of your medication, and the  REPLENISH  button when you take receipt of the medication.  These actions adjust the stock figures as necessary and place an entry on the log.

GETTING HELP:

From within Medi-Prompt app, select Tools.  You can then choose to read the FAQs or contact support.

PAUSING THE ALERTS:

Of course, you can always turn down the volume and switch off the ringer when you go in to a meeting but this will still leave Medi-Prompt vibrating and displaying alerts you may not want to respond to until the meeting is over.  So just go to Tools / Actions and tap the inhibit alerts until... entry.  Choose the time at which the alerts should re-commence.  Medi-Prompt will restart alerts after the selected time for all due or overdue medications.
